Bead mill is a grinding apparatus designed to grind and/or disperse particles in a liquid down to the micro and nano scales. Generally, bead mill consists of a high-speed impeller which rotates in a cylindrical vessel and generates beads motion. The device operation principle is based on the agitation of grinding media (beads) in the vessel which induces intense shear force and impact on the particles and results in grinding and dispersion. The bead mill can be used for various applications such as grinding of food materials, metal oxides, pharmaceutical particles, etc. Some advantages of this device are as follows:
