123rd meeting of National Committee of Nanotechnology in Iran National Standard Organization (INSO) was held on December 26, 2022. In this meeting, two more standards in the field of nanotechnology were proposed and approved. These standards were proposed by two different scientific teams from Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC). By approval of these two standards, the number of national nanotechnology standards reached 150.
More details on these standards are as follow:

“Nanotechnologies - Nanoscale Hard Coatings- Evaluation of Adhesion Strength- Specifications and Test Methods”
This standard is developed in order to provide practical test methods to evaluate the adhesion of coatings and their specifications. In order to evaluate the adhesion and cohesion of the coating, there must be suitable methods for verification of the quality of adhesion and cohesion of the nanoscale coatings. This standard provides methods of coatings that have the nanoscale specifications according to the approved National Standard 23143, and their hardness values exceed 12 GPa.

“Nanotechnologies- Magnetic Nanomaterials- part 2: Specifications of Nanostructured Magnetic Beads and Measurement Methods for Nucleic Acid Extraction”
This standard is developed in order to determine the specifications of magnetic beads in the form of suspension and powder for nucleic acid extraction. This standard covers magnetic beads that contain significant amounts of magnetic nanoparticles (which can be superparamagnetic). Some fields including health, safety and environment related to magnetic beads are not considered in this standard.
