Nanotechnology can help many industries improve the quality of their products and reduce their final cost. Recently, Aptus Iran Co. employed silicon oxide (SiO2) nanoparticles in the production process of floor coverings used in the harbor and the airport areas. The new product showed some exciting properties including:

• Better bending, higher pressure, and tension resistance
• 70% reduction in the final manufacturing cost
• Increased durability and life span 
• Lower water absorption by 2%
• Self-cleaning capability by titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles

Transfer of knowledge agreements are expected to be signed between Aptus Iran co. and interested organizations in Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Lebanon.
