Lead-acid battery is one of the oldest types of rechargeable batteries. It can generate high currents with low cost. Thus, it is suitable for motor vehicles. Nanoshimi Novin Iranian Company succeeded in developing technology to improve this type of batteries. The lead-acid battery expander of this company contains nanoparticles. These nanoparticles create a higher amount of charge/discharge due to its wide surface area and higher contact area of electrode/electrolyte. As a result, a short path is accessible for fast charge transfer. As major managers of this company stated, these nanotechnology-based expanders can increase battery life by 1.5 times and also increase charge/discharge battery cycle from 100 to 1500. Ultimately. These expanders cause reduction in consumption of raw materials.
