The production of desulfurization Nanocatalyst in Iran eliminated the need for imports

An Iranian knowledge-based company has succeeded in producing and commercializing the RCD unit catalyst in Iran, which is one of the strategic products of the petrochemical industry and is widely used in the desulfurization process.

One of the most important processes of refineries, to promote and improve the composition of refined products, is hydrogen refining processes of heavy cuttings in the range of fuel oil (furnace oil), which is referred to as the RCD process.

Mohammad Omidi, the CEO of knowledge-based Eksir Novin Farayand Asiya, gave this explanation of the high importance of the RCD process and the vital role of catalysts in this part of the petrochemical industry and explained: RCD nanostructure catalyst refers to a set of catalysts in this unit, which aims to eliminate Poisons such as sulfur, nitrogen, metals, and CCR are used from the unit feed. The presence of these toxins causes the catalyst of its downstream unit, RFCC, to be deactivated; Therefore, the constant use of catalysts for detoxification and the continuation of the activity of other parts is of great importance.

This technologist continued: The catalyst's efficiency in terms of maximum removal of impurities in feed such as sulfur, nitrogen, metals, and (CCR) is under international standards.

Referring to the localization of all the catalysts needed in the RCD unit, he said: The catalysts of this unit are 11 types, which are all localized in the country.

The CEO of Eksir Novin Farayand Asiya, pointing to the creation of 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, pointed out the role of these products in reducing imports and saving foreign exchange and added: the annual import of this catalyst is more than 3,000 cubic meters only for the Imam Khomeini Oil Refinery. With the help of the Isfahan RHU unit, this amount will reach more than 6000 cubic meters per year.

This technologist added: The domestic sales of this product are more than 45 million euros per year, and with the increase in the capacity to supply domestic needs, this amount will also increase.

Omidi stated that this catalyst was produced and operated for the first time by this company and continued: Considering the significant amount of demand in the country, Exir Novin Farayand Asiya has focused on solving the domestic demand and considering The plan to increase export production capacity is to enter the world markets.

Regarding the product's competitive advantages, he added: the catalyst produced by Eksir Novin Farayand Asiya has a higher mechanical strength than similar foreign catalysts, which has led to an increase in the life of the catalyst.
