"The National Iranian South Oil-fields Company is the largest subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company, which can produce more than 2.9 million barrels of oil per day,” Roghanian, deputy technical director of National Iranian South Oil-field Company said, “the company is also responsible for the development of 45 oil fields.”
In order to increase production from the fields, drilling packers should be used which impose high costs on the company.
“In 2015, we signed a contract with the National Iranian South Oil-field Company,” Mr. Arghawani, CEO of Kia Sanat Sharif said, “in 2018, the research phase of this project was concluded.” The company’s focus is on the production of packers used for oil and gas wells.
The whole process of design, development and production of these packers was carried out in Kia Sanat Sharif company. The product was used on a test well and the results were completely satisfactory and were approved by the officials of National Iranian South Oil-fields Company. Therefore, the cooperation between the two companies continued and the packers were used in 22 wells. According to the officials of the National Iranian South Oil-field Company, these packers work quite well and overcome various challenges.
"We received considerable supports from Iran’s Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC) which helped us in the way for commercialization,” The CEO of Kia Sanat Sharif said.
As the head of production engineering department of National Iranian South Oil-fields Company said, a contract was signed for the purchase of 100 packers. Value of this contract is estimated at 5 million dollars.
After the United States of America, Iran is the second country that produces packers for its oil and gas industries.
