Focus of this summit was on setting priorities, solving challenges, and advancing international standards projects. During this meeting, Iranian experts were actively present in the meetings of specialized working groups of this committee, and three international standards under the responsibility of Iran were also reviewed by ISO members in this meeting.
The Nano mask is one of the standards being developed under the responsibility of Iran, which was presented in this meeting, and after the ISO members voted, it was approved to be sent to the next stage of the standard development process. Another standard proposal was presented under the responsibility of Iran on the topic of Nanoemulsion, and after the project manager responded to the comments of experts and ISO members, it entered the next stage of the development process.
Also, the previous standard proposed by Iran regarding the determination of Nano clay properties, which was previously compiled and published in this committee, was reaffirmed. In addition, Iran's domestic experts have given their opinions and suggestions to the ISO during the review of standards that were proposed by other countries, such as standards for graphene and two-dimensional materials, Nano codes, Nanosensors, and labeling of Nano products.
On the last day of the meeting, the efforts of Dr. Ali Beitollahi, the former chairman of the National Nano Standard Committee, were appreciated for his years of participation and activity in the development of international Nano standards. It should be noted that 106 standards have been published in various Nano sectors in ISO, and Iran is in the fourth position of the most active members of ISO with the proposal of 12 standards. The basis of developing international standards in the ISO is global consensus by the member countries. The member countries of the technical committees provide various expert opinions for the completion and development of the standard at different stages of standard development. There are 39 countries as main members and 18 countries as observer members in the technical committee of nanotechnology standards of the International Standard Organization.
