Iranian Researchers Collaborate with German University of Cologne to Build a High-Resolution Transparent Screen

Researchers at the University of Tabriz have developed a new generation of transparent display system with a higher resolution than those available on the market, and nanoparticles with a Si-SiO2 core-shell structure. This display can replace the current displays that have higher power consumption.

Dr. Dolatyari, in collaboration with ASEPE Company in Germany, has succeeded in developing a new type of high-resolution transparent screen based on Si-SiO2 core-shell nanoparticles. This study has been published by Nature Research, with an impact factor of 4.011 (in 2019).

Dr. Dolatyari said, "The nanoparticle pseudo-array has been used in this display to create very high dispersion properties. For this purpose, Si-SiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized and controlled by changing particle size, emission wavelength and dispersion. The use of synthesized nanoparticles has decreased the cost of manufacturing and made the possibility of manufacturing in large dimensions."

She added, "We have been collaborating with the University of Cologne on this project and we are currently focusing on the research part of the project. For example, a blue display has been made and studies are being carried out on other colors, including green and red. Once the research phase is finalized, this technology will move towards commercialization."
