Expanding the Utilization of Iranian Nano-catalysts in domestic industries among major foreign competitors

Amir-Hooman Karimi-Vosoogh, CEO of Sarv Oil and Gas Company, announces: " We are active in the urea, methanol, and ammonia sectors, and in recent years, we have also entered the petrochemical and steel industries. In the steel sector, we collaborate with numerous companies. Unlike most countries that use blast furnaces for steel production, Iran uses the direct reduction method, which involves a type of gas breakdown requiring a catalyst. Almost 90% of steel in Iran is produced using this method. We also produce catalysts for these companies.

He delves into the types of catalysts: " Catalysts act as facilitators of processes, increasing reaction rates and reducing the need for temperature and pressure. Sixty to seventy percent of the world's catalysts are environmental catalysts used in cars and factories to convert toxic substances into less hazardous materials through catalytic activity. In industry, catalysts have long been either nano or micro in nature, meaning either micro or nanoparticles are used in these catalysts. Additionally, there are biocatalysts. Our products also contain nanoparticles, and we have been producing nano-catalysts for many years.

He believes that nano-catalysts can have significant environmental effects and minimize industrial damage to the environment.

Sarv Oil and Gas Industries Development Company is one of the largest producers of nano-catalysts in the country, successfully meeting a portion of the country's need for catalysts used in various industries. The company offers more than 30 knowledge-based products, most of which have been developed using nanotechnology. Currently, Iran is recognized as one of the major markets for industrial catalysts in the world due to its rich oil and gas reserves. Over the past twenty years, this company has played a significant role as a pioneer in the new catalyst industry in the country and has managed to supply its nano-catalysts to domestic industries despite foreign competitors who even sell their products in the Iranian market under sanctions.
