Eco-Friendly Production of Silica Nanoparticles

A research team at Islamic Azad University, Najafabad Branch synthesized silica nanoparticles from a rice plant source.

 January 06, 2019  Scientific

This project is aimed at synthesizing silica nanoparticles from a rice plant source which significantly lowers final production costs. Silica nanoparticles can help lower the cost of a heat exchanger system by boosting the thermal conductivity of heat exchanger’s fluid and reducing the amount of system's fouling.

Ramin Ranjbarzadeh and Alireza Moradikazerouni, graduates with M.Sc., Reza Bakhtiari, Ph.D. candidate, and Dr. Masoud Afrand, faculty member at Islamic Azad University Najafabad Branch, and Dr. Amin Asadi, Ph.D. candidate at Aalborg University, are key team members working on this project. The results are published in the Journal of Cleaner Production with an impact factor of 5.6
