An Iranian company has successfully developed production of disinfectants that contain ethylene-glycol and silver nano-colloids to meet the country’s demands in this area.
"The construction of the factory related to the production of disinfectants was completed and the production line with the capacity of 10,000 liters per day will start its work soon", Kazemzadeh a member of the company’s board of directors stated. “The bactericidal activity of this product is evaluated in accordance with the national standard for chemical disinfectants - quantitative suspension test for evaluation of anti-bacterial activities of chemical disinfectants used in medical sites, ISIRI 10504.” he added.Kazemzadeh explained that disinfectants produced inside the country are mostly alcohol-based and they may have various side-effects, but by using water-based silver nanoparticle, many concerns over the side-effects are overcome. Also, while alcohol consumption due to the novel coronavirus outbreak has been exponential, large quantity of these disinfectants are now accessible.
