Dr. Abdulreza Simchi, a prominent researcher in the field of Nanomaterials at the Sharif University of Technology, was selected as a member of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

In the recent meeting of the TWAS for the Development of Science in Developing Countries, Dr. Abdulreza Simchi, a professor at the Sharif University of Technology, became one of the 47 new members of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

Dr. Abdolreza Simchi is one of the top 1 percent of researchers in his field of specialization and the winner of national and international awards, including the award of the International Kharazmi Festival in 2003, the Award for the Best Researcher of the country in 2014, the Allameh Tabataba'i Award of the National Elite Foundation in 2014, The award of the country's model professor in 2021, the Gold Medal and the Top Young Inventor Award of the World Intellectual Property Organization in 2003, the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) Award in 2003 for The development and patenting of a new material called LaserTool for direct laser welding of metals received a research fellowship from the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany in 1999-2000, and a Georg Forster Research Award for lifetime educational and research achievements from Humboldt Foundation - Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung in 2020. This Prominent scientist in the field of Nanomaterials has more than 10 patents, 4 books, and 300 articles. His h-index is 63 with 14 thousand cited articles.

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is an internationally recognized institution whose mission is to promote and contribute to advancing science in developing countries. This academy was founded in 1983 on the initiative of Professor Abdul Islam, a Pakistani winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, under the title of Third World Countries Science Academy. The headquarters of this academy is in Trieste, Italy. About 1,400 scientists from all over the world are members of the World Academy of Sciences.
