An Iranian company uses CVD coating equipment to coat produced diamonds. However, this company purchased a PVD coating machine and set up its coating line and updated its coating technology. Chamber of the purchased coating machine made by another Iranian company has a diameter and height of 1100 and 1300 mm, respectively. It is capable of creating nanostructure coatings, including nanolayers and nanocomposites.
Among the advantages of this coating technology, the following ones can be mentioned:
- Capability to coat heavy parts (up to 500 kg)
- Simultaneous coating of 4 parts in various structures
- Coating speed of 2 microns per hour
- Lower consumption of raw materials
- Capability for full and semi-automatic coating
In order to carry out the coating, firstly, operator washes and degreases the parts using the ultrasonic system. Then, the parts are placed inside the vacuum chamber and on the carousel with special fixtures. The operator selects the desired coating combination, structure (nanolayer, nanocomposite, etc.) as well as the coating thickness. The device automatically creates a vacuum in the chamber and increases the temperature of the parts to the required level. Coating is carried out and finally the device cools the parts first, and by entering the air into the chamber, the process is completed.
