Professors from Tehran, Tarbiat Modares, Tehran Medical Sciences, Zanjan, Shahid Beheshti, Materials and Energy Research Institute and representatives from several private companies were also present in this meeting.
Dr. Qadiri, a board member of the Iran Technology and Innovation Management Association (IRAMOT), who participated in one of the projects of the European Horizon program, reviewed the structure of the European Union research support program"Horizon Europe" and spoke about the mechanisms of cooperation with this program. Qadiri talked about how to enter this project and the requirements of working in European research programs.
He also spoke about the history of European international cooperation during the last 4 decades and details of the European Framework Programs (FP), the budgeting of these research programs and the indicators of entering these projects.
According to him, the Union's 2014-2020 program with a budget of 80 billion euros is one of the largest research projects in the world, and this figure has reached an astronomical figure of 95.5 billion euros for the 2020-2027 program, which has many opportunities for Iranian researchers to cooperate with these programs.
Hassan Poipoi presented details about the nano projects that are included in the 2020-2027 Horizon program. According to engineer Poipoi, climate adaptation and health are among the important axes of these projects. He considers the validation and approval of the legal executive's qualification, transfer of money, transfer of laboratory kits and required chemicals among the challenges that are on the way to participate in the RiskGone project that INIC was facing it.
“Risk-GONE” is one of the European Union projects in the field of nanomaterials safety, which started with a budget of 5 million dollars in January 2019. In this project, 15 European countries, along with Iran and the United States, cooperate on the development of guidelines related to nanomaterials in order to finally develop standards for the safe use of nanomaterials. Considering Iran's history in developing four international standards in the field of nanotechnology, the consortium related to the Risk-GONE project invited Iran to participate in this project, and the INIC participated in this project as Iran's representative.
