This MOA will be implemented in various programs in the field of education, promotion, and development of Nanotechnology in Oman and the countries of South West Asia and East Africa region (GCC). The MOA has been concluded in line with Iran's emphasis on the development of Nanotechnology as one of the priority areas of the country and the promotion of Iran's scientific position in the region and across the world. The official signing ceremony of this agreement was held on December 20th, 2023, in the presence of officials of the Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC) and directors of Oman and Iran companies. The parties of this agreement intend to take advantage of each other's capacities, experiences, and capabilities and adopt a complementary approach to implement joint measures and programs around the export of Iran's nano products and services to the countries of the region. These measures include the following:
- Compiling and holding academic courses, conferences, and educational workshops at different levels and fields related to nanotechnology
- Training university professors and lecturers in the field of nanotechnology
- Organizing national and international events and competitions in the field of nanotechnology
- Facilitating and encouraging cooperative research collaborations through international programs and events
- Setting up research laboratories and infrastructure in schools, universities, and industries
- Strengthening the relationship between industry and university, applying nanotechnology in related industries, and facilitating the cooperation of industries with researchers and technologists
- Reinforcing the entrepreneurial culture and launching new businesses in the field of nanotechnology
- Strengthening the export of Iran's nano products in regional and world countries
The audience of these programs in the countries of South West Asia and East Africa includes the following:
- Ministry of Education, various schools and educational institutions
- Ministry of Science, Research and Innovation and all public and private universities and colleges
- Entrepreneurship development and innovation funds
- Organizations and industrial companies that have the possibility of using nanotechnology in their product value chain.
- Free-trade zones and industrial towns
- Financial and research institutes interested in supporting nanotechnology development
The implementation period of this MOA is 5 years, and it is expected that during this period, many fields of cooperation shall be provided between the nano companies of Iran and the countries of South West Asia and East Africa.
