This issue aims to present innovative solutions to global environmental challenges by leveraging the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and nanotechnology.
Founded in 2016, JWENT is a quarterly peer-reviewed journal published by the Iranian Environmental Mutagen Society (IRSES) with the support of the Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC). The journal is indexed in Scopus, ISC, SID, DOAJ, and CAS, and is currently under evaluation for inclusion in the Web of Science (WOS) database.
The editorial board of JWENT includes distinguished international scholars and researchers from leading universities and scientific institutions specializing in nanotechnology, water treatment, and environmental sciences, with a consistent focus on publishing innovative and interdisciplinary research.
The upcoming special issue will feature original research papers, review articles, and case studies from researchers around the world. It will particularly emphasize the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating innovation and sustainability in nano-enabled technologies for water and environmental protection.
Key themes include:
AI-assisted design and optimization of nanotechnology-based systems for water purification and environmental remediation.
Modeling, simulation, and performance prediction for pollutant removal and treatment processes.
Smart nanosensors and IoT-based systems for real-time monitoring of water and environmental quality.
AI-supported risk assessment of nanomaterials and nano-enabled processes.
Hybrid systems integrating AI, nanotechnology, and biotechnology for sustainable water and environmental applications.
The submission deadline for manuscripts is December 15, 2025, and the peer-review and publication process will be conducted on an accelerated schedule.
Dr. Jahanshahi invited global researchers and experts to contribute to this landmark issue, emphasizing that: “This special issue represents a valuable opportunity to showcase how artificial intelligence can enhance nanotechnology innovation and contribute to the sustainable management of water and environmental resources.”
