Dr. Hormozi-Nezhad’s research team developed a multicolor array sensor based on the metallic coating of gold plasmonic nanorods with silver. This innovative method combines colorimetric techniques with machine-learning approaches to detect and measure biomarkers associated with dementia-related diseases. The findings of this study were published in ACS Chemical Neuroscience and were selected by the journal's editorial board for the cover of its latest issue.
Notably, this article is one of the research achievements from the thesis of Reza Kohsar, a master's student in analytical chemistry at the School of Chemistry, conducted in collaboration with Dr. Afsaneh Orooji, a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Hormozi-Nezhad's research group.
