The event brought together experts from the Iran National Standards Organization (INSO), INIC, and international specialists in nanotechnology standards. The primary aim was to discuss and refine proposals that Iran plans to submit to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for necessary revisions.

During the meeting, project managers presented three proposals for new international standards. Attendees with prior experience in developing international standards contributed valuable insights, enhancing the proposals and preparing presenters for advocating their projects at ISO. Notably, Iran is set to present and defend its projects in three out of five working groups within this committee, marking a proactive approach to standard development.

To date, ISO has published 111 standards related to various aspects of nanotechnology, with Iran contributing 12 of those, positioning it as the fourth most active member in ISO's efforts. The development of these international standards typically requires two to three years, relying on a global consensus among member countries. The technical committee for nanotechnology standards includes representatives from 40 main member countries and 16 observer countries, ensuring a diverse range of expert opinions throughout the standard development process.
