On Monday, June 10, 2024, a significant meeting took place at the Iran Nano and Micro Technologies Innovation Council (INIC). Attendees included officials from Malaysia's Ministry of Agriculture, representatives from three Malaysian agricultural companies, and several managers from the INIC. The meeting aimed to explore potential areas for mutual collaboration, with a focus on nanobubble technology, nanofertilizers, and nanopackaging, which piqued the interest of the Malaysian delegation.
During the meeting, Iran's advancements in nanotechnology within the agricultural sector were showcased to the Malaysian delegation. Notably, nanobubble technology, which is rapidly expanding across Iran with widespread adoption in greenhouses, received high praise.
Iran's capabilities in nanopackaging also attracted considerable attention from Malaysian representatives. These advanced packaging solutions, fully commercialized and utilized for several years, have been used to market food and vegetables effectively. Additionally, Iranian nanofertilizers were another area of keen interest for the Malaysian delegation.
Key agreements from the meeting included plans for B2B sessions between Iranian and Malaysian companies to foster trade in the agricultural sector, participation in specialized exhibitions such as the Malaysia Nano and Agro Food Exhibition, and the initiation of joint R&D projects aimed at introducing Iranian nanotechnology products to Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries.
It is noteworthy that Iranian nanopackaging can significantly extend the shelf life of food products. Currently, these packages are used for the distribution of protein products within the country. Iranian nanobubble technology is also being employed in greenhouse agriculture, water purification, and fisheries.
