An Iranian nanotechnology company has unveiled a revolutionary product aimed at prolonging the lifespan of cut flowers. Named Floriva, this innovative solution enhances the freshness and vitality of blooms, allowing consumers to enjoy them for a longer period. Developed by Kimiya Pazhouhan Najoo, Floriva employs advanced nanotechnology to significantly reduce spoilage, addressing the estimated 20% to 40% loss of cut flowers and boosting export potential, thereby contributing to foreign currency earnings.

Floriva is composed of eco-friendly ingredients and is simply added to the water of the flowers. The formula works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and fungi, which are primary causes of premature wilting. Additionally, it regulates water pH levels and provides essential nutrients, helping to maintain the flowers' natural color and fragrance. This makes Floriva an attractive option for florists, export greenhouses, and event planners.

Key advantages of Floriva include its ability to extend flower longevity through reduced microbial activity, its biodegradable composition, and its superior performance compared to both domestic and international alternatives. The company, based in the Quantum Plus Accelerator at Shiraz University, has launched Floriva to market and has garnered recognition as a standout project at the Shiraz Technology and Innovation Festival.

Kimiya Pazhouhan Najoo is set to showcase Floriva at the upcoming 15th International Nanotechnology Exhibition, scheduled for November 3 to 6, 2024. The exhibition aims to promote market growth and innovation across various industrial sectors.
