Intellectual property as a fundamentally important infrastructure for technology development has attracted world’s attention for more than one century. There are more than 25 international conventions and protocols concerning in the field of intellectual property which all underline the importance of this topic.
INIC has started its activities relating intellectual property since 2005. The activities include:

• Reinforcing the existing IP organizations

• Supporting establishment of IP offices in universities and research centers

• Supporting private sector organizations which offer technical services concerning IP

• Holding educational seminars for owners of IP offices on various topics like:
- Requirements and steps of filing a patent
- Granting/acquiring any permission to sell or buy an intellectual property
- Offering any services about patentability, choosing and protecting a brand/trademark
- Offering services and legal advices about making non-disclosure/confidential agreements
- Offering consultancy to inventors and innovators for correct protection of their IPs
- Offering patent search and analysis services

• Holding educational seminars for students and managers

• Supporting patent licensing in fields of nanotechnology
